The terms governing engagement of SAR Consulting's NVQ qualification consultancy services. Plain English, no surprises, written to be readable rather than impenetrable.
Last updated: 10 May 2026These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your engagement of SAR Consulting Ltd ("SAR Consulting", "we", "us", "our") for NVQ qualification consultancy services. They form a contract between you (the "Client") and SAR Consulting.
By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't engage us. We're happy to discuss any questions or concerns about these Terms before you commit to working with us.
SAR Consulting provides NVQ qualification consultancy services to construction professionals across the UK. The scope of our service typically includes:
To be clear about scope:
The exact scope of work for your NVQ is set out in your individual assessment plan, agreed before work commences.
Pricing for NVQ qualification services is determined on a case-by-case basis, reflecting the level of qualification, scope of evidence required, number of site visits, and the support needed throughout the process.
Following an initial scoping consultation (which is free of charge and carries no obligation), we provide a written quotation setting out:
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Indicative starting prices published on our website are guides only — your actual quotation reflects your specific circumstances.
If additional work is needed beyond the original scope (for example, evidence gathered through additional site visits, or extension of the engagement timeline), we will notify you in advance and agree any additional fees in writing before proceeding.
An engagement is formed when you accept a quotation in writing (by email or signed acceptance) and the agreed initial payment is received. From that point, you become a candidate and we commence work in line with your assessment plan.
To deliver our services we may ask for:
We treat all information you provide as confidential, in line with Section 09 below.
Payment terms are set out in your individual quotation and confirmed at engagement. Typically:
Invoices are issued at agreed stages. Payment is due within 14 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed. Where an employer is funding the qualification, invoices may be issued directly to them by prior arrangement.
If an invoice is not paid by the due date, we may pause delivery of services until payment is received. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.
Either party may end the engagement at any time, in writing, subject to the following terms.
If you're a consumer (engaging as an individual rather than for business purposes), you have a 14-day "cooling off" period from the date of engagement during which you may cancel without giving a reason and receive a full refund of any sums paid, except where you have specifically requested that work commence within that period.
If work has already begun at your request, we may retain a proportion of fees corresponding to work already carried out.
After the cooling-off period (or if you're engaging for business purposes from the outset), cancellation by you is subject to the following:
We may end the engagement if:
In such cases we will refund any fees paid in advance for work not yet commenced.
To deliver a successful NVQ qualification, we ask that you:
The qualification is ultimately based on your own competence and effort. While we provide structure, support and guidance, success requires your active participation throughout the process.
SAR Consulting commits to:
While we will do everything reasonably possible to support a successful qualification outcome, we cannot guarantee certification. Final certification decisions rest with the relevant awarding body, based on the evidence submitted.
All information you share with us during the engagement — including project details, employer information, professional history, and personal data — is treated as confidential and used only for delivering the agreed services.
We may share information with awarding bodies, external assessors, or other parties strictly for the purpose of NVQ certification, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Where you share information that is confidential to your employer or to a project (for example, drawings, programmes, or commercial documents), you confirm that you have authority to share that information for the purpose of evidencing your competence. We won't share that information beyond what's needed for NVQ certification.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for:
Subject to the above, our total liability to you under or in connection with the engagement is limited to the total fees paid by you to us in respect of that engagement.
We are not liable for:
If you're unhappy with any aspect of our service, please raise it with us first so we can try to resolve it. The fastest route is direct contact with Sonia.
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 3 working days and resolve them within 28 days. If we're unable to resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, you may escalate it to the relevant awarding body or, where applicable, an alternative dispute resolution provider.
These Terms and any engagement based on them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply to engagements entered into after the update date. The Terms applicable to your engagement are those in force at the date of engagement.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with your individual quotation and assessment plan, form the entire agreement between you and SAR Consulting in relation to the qualification engagement.
